Bon Vivant Wine Biscuits

1 cup white wine

2 cup flour(reg)

1 Tsp baking powder

1/2 Tsp salt

1/2 cup butter

1/4 cup shortening

1/2 cup sugar

ground pepper

Boil wine till reduced to 1/4 cup(8 to 10 min)

Combine flour, baking powder, salt, 3/4 Tsp pepper.

Cream butter, sugar & shortening and add reduced wine and other dry ingredients. Divide dough in half. On plastic sheets, shape each dough half into 10 inch by 1 inch log. Wrap each in plastic and freeze overnight.

Cut in 1/4 inch slices, bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 for 15/20 minutes, until light brown.

You can do an egg wash and sprinkle with pepper before baking but I leave off that step-too much pepper!
